Justice Dept. faults former Epstein prosecutor for ‘poor judgment’ but finds no misconduct

The Justice Department conducted an internal investigation of the late Jeffrey Epstein’s 2008 plea deal with federal prosecutors in Florida after revelations last year that then-U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta, who later served as President Trump’s labor secretary, shelved an indictment that could have resulted in a lifetime prison sentence.
