COVID-19 surge slams India's health system, death toll tops 200,000

India crossed a grim milestone Wednesday of more than 200,000 people lost to the coronavirus as a surge of new infections devastated dense cities and rural areas alike and overwhelmed health-care systems on the brink of collapse.
