Keystone Pipeline Leaks 210,000 Gallons of Oil in South DakotaCrews were on site at the Keystone Pipeline on Thursday after 210,000 gallons of oiled leaked in Marshall County, South Dakota, according to the pipeline operator, TransCanada, reported by CNN. Officials were still investigating the cause of the leak and had shut down the pipeline spanning several states after the largest Keystone oil spill to date in South Dakota, according to Brian Walsh, spokesman for the state's Department of Environment and Natural Resources. In April 2016, there was a 400-barrel release of oil, or 16,800 gallons, which took two months to clean up the majority off that spill, according to Walsh.
