Likewise, a face lift could cost $8,000 - $14,000 in the U.S. and $5,000 in Mexico. The recent kidnapping of four Americans in Mexico highlights the practice known as medical tourism. A relative of one of the victims says the group traveled from the Carolinas so one of them could get a tummy tuck surgery in the border city of Matamoros. Two of the victims died.
