Cyclone Vayu to make landfall near Veraval; high alert across coastal Gujarat
Tuesday, 11 June 2019 () The local, state and central administration in addition to disaster management agencies have swung into full action in the wake of the cyclone warning. Some 2.9 lakh people are likely to be evacuated from the low-lying regions of Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Rajkot, Diu and Junagadh among others by Wednesday morning. Cyclone Vayu is likely to make landfall between Veraval and Diu.
Coastal areas in western India continue to experience strong winds and heavy rains as Cyclone Vayu moves further into the Arabian sea.
