50 years on, 80-year-old to be paid for land

Coming to the rescue of an 80-year old woman whose land was taken without her consent by Himachal Pradesh government more than a half century back for road construction, the Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the state to pay her compensation along with Rs 10 lakh as litigation cost. The land was acquired by the state government in 1967 for construction of road in Hamirpur.
