SAD, AAP condemn Punjab DGP's statement over Kartarpur corridor
Saturday, 22 February 2020 The Shiromani Akali Dal said if the clarification was not issued, the party will stall proceedings of the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha on February 24. The Aam Aadmi Party too lashed out at the DGP, terming the statement condemnable and seeking the removal of the top cop.
Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, spoke on the Covid-19 pandemic and Central government's role in the battle. He was speaking at the 18th edition of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. Baghel said that the state managed to prevent a migrant worker exodus and a blow to industry, but the Union government didn't have much of a role to play. Reacting to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's praise of the Modi administration, Baghel said that the Aam Aadmi Party government in the capital was also responsible for the spread of the pandemic across the country, and so the AAP and BJP were scratching each other's backs. Delhi's annual wave of air pollution has coincided with the Covid-19 pandemic this year. Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2020, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that pollution played a big role in the onset of the third wave of infections in the capital. He also linked pollution to a higher death toll due to the disease. Kejriwal blamed neighbouring states for failing to control stubble burning by farmers, despite the availability of cheap solutions. He also listed how the Aam Aadmi Party government has worked to reduce pollution from local sources in the capital. Watch the full video for more.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh handed over to Governor the resolution passed against Centre’s farm laws. Singh said he doesn’t care if President’s rule is imposed or if his government is sacked. Punjab Assembly had passed four bills and a resolution against the Centre’s farm laws. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Harpal Singh Cheema and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sharan Jit Singh Dhillon on October 20 handed over to Governor VP Singh Badnore the resolution against Farm Laws passed in the state assembly. Speaking to media, CM Amarinder Singh said, "Punjab's voice has reached the Governor, he will pass it on to the President. I don't care about President's Rule. You want to sack my government? Sack my government, I don't give a damn." "I am doing this for farmers of the state and the country," he added.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal visited Golden Temple in Amritsar on October 01. Badal led Kisan March rally from here today. The march, which also began from Sri Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo and Sri Keshgarh Sahib at Anandpur Sahib and will conclude in Mohali. Sukhbir Singh Badal, "We'll give a memorandum to the Governor, with a request to Centre and President that Parliament session should be called again and Farm Laws be taken back."

Security forces have killed Dr Saifullah, who was number one commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, in the encounter in Srinagar, informed Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh in a press conference on November 01. He said, "Dr Saifullah who was number one commander of Hizbul Mujahideen has been killed in the encounter. It was a very successful operation. Dr Saifullah (slain Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist) was active since October 2014. He was associated with Burhan Wani for long time."
Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in the Chakura area of Shopian district on October 14. Speaking to media, J-K Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh said, "The encounter was on till sometime ago and so far two militants have been neutralised. The area is under search now as there could be more militants." "The operation is not over as such and more details on this will be available later," The DGP added. "Pakistan tries to infiltrate more terrorists before snowfall. Our security forces looking after the border security grid are thwarting Pakistan's attempts," he further stated.
