Covid-19: New high of 5,376 cases in a day across country

India recorded its biggest single-day jump in Covid-19 cases so far, breaching the 5,000-mark for the third time, by reporting 5,376 fresh cases from across the country on Wednesday. Four of the biggest single-day figures have been reported in the last five days alone, indicating an unusual spike in fresh cases as migrants return to their respective home states.
