Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent Charge) Kiren Rijiju on June 21 performed various 'asanas' to mark the International Day of Yoga. While talking to ANI, he said that during the crisis hour of COVID-19 pandemic Yoga is bringing immunity system to a stronger level and everybody must perform Yoga. Nation is observing 6th edition of International Yoga Day.
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on June 21 celebrated International Yoga Day by performing various Asanas. This was the sixth edition of International Yoga Day. The CRPF personnel also maintained the social distancing while performing Yoga. Prime Minister Narendra Modi pitched World Yoga Day at United General Assembly in 2014.
An online exhibition was organised in Vadodara city to mark International Day of Yoga. A group organized online exhibition with rangolis of various Asanas. The event was conducted by Sahaj Rangoli Group. Sahaj Rangoli Group showcased their art on various social media platforms. Today marks sixth edition of International Day of Yoga.
On the occasion of sixth International Yoga Day, several union ministers performed yoga on June 21. Union Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi performed yoga in Delhi. Union Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan performed yoga with his family in Delhi. Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel also performed yoga at Delhi's Purana Qila. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar also performed yoga in Delhi. Minister of State (MoS) for AYUSH Shripad Naik performed yoga in Goa's Panaji. Meanwhile, Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha, Pragya Singh performed yoga in MP's Bhopal.
Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel at Ladakh performed yoga at an altitude of 18,000 feet, in sub-zero temperatures, on International Yoga Day on June 21. At Khardung La also, ITBP personnel were seen performing yoga 'asanas'. Arunachal Pradesh's Lohitpur also witnessed ITBP personnel carrying out yoga on the occasion of International Yoga Day. ITBP personnel, deployed at India-China border, performed yoga at an altitude of 14,000 feet at Vasudhara glacier near Badrinath.
