Priyanka Gandhi Vadra demands thorough investigation into woman panchayat officer suicide case
Sunday, 12 July 2020 In a letter to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, she said the young and honest officer posted in Ballia had raised several questions on the functioning of her department. In a Facebook post, she said the family of the officer was upset over the sudden tragic incident.
Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and husband of party leader Priyanka Gandhi on August 08 visited the AIIMS where a 12-year-old rape victim who is admitted at the hospital after facing sexual abuse. Speaking to ANI, Vadra said that he met the parents of the girl, and requested the doctors for best possible treatment that could be given to the victim. Vadra informed that he managed to get the parents a room in a dharamshala near the hospital. Vadra also expressed displeasure over the state of security of women in the country.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a COVID hospital in Noida sector 39 on August 08. CM Yogi Adityanath examined the preparations at the 400-bed hospital. He interacted with the doctors of the hospital. Noida District Magistrate Suhas LY was also present at the event. The state has so far reported 1,08,974 total COVID-19 infections along with 1,918 deaths.
An Indian National Congress party leader was booked by Madhya Pradesh police over a complaint by a Bharatiya Janata Party leader. Jitu Patwari was booked for allegedly posting a 'tampered' photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media. The post contained an image of the Prime Minister conducting 'bhumi pujan' or ground-breaking at the Ram temple site in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya on August 5. Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) over a complaint by BJP's Gaurav Randive. He accused Patwari of igniting public passions and tampering photographs. Mortal remains of pilot-in-command Deepak Vasanth Sathe reached Mumbai on Sunday afternoon. Mortal remains were kept at the Air India facility near the Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport for some time. Deepak Sathe's wife Sushma and their son were present. Body of the deceased was brought to Mumbai from Kochi. Pilots, crew and ground staff of Air India paid tributes to the late captain. Sathe lost his life with 17 others in Kozhikode plane crash. Mortal remains of co-pilot Akhilesh Kumar were cremated on Sunday. Around 200 Air India Express employees paid tribute to the fallen co-pilot in Delhi. Kumar's mortal remains were taken to his native place in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura. An Air India Express plane overshot the runway on August 7. The aircraft fell into a valley where it split into two pieces. At least 18 people, including two pilots, were killed. There were 190 people onboard the Vande Bharat flight. The flight was bringing back Indians stranded in Dubai due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Worms were found in the beds of surgical ward of District Hospital in UP's Mahoba. Patient's relatives alleged no response after incident came to light. CMS said, "This is the only incident and that too due to the carelessness of the ward boy. Otherwise, the hospital remains clean. I have warned him and instructed to clean this."

A Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Debendra Nath Roy was found hanging one kilometer away from his house near a tea stall in Dinajpur district. Local residents spotted him hanging and called the police immediately. A suicide note has been recovered from his pocket in which 3 persons have been named responsible for his death. Raiganj SP Sumit Kumar said, "Today, body of MLA Hemtabad, Debendra Nath Roy was found hanging in Balia, Uttar Dinajpur. A suicide note has been recovered from his pocket in which 3 persons have been named as responsible for his death. Further investigation is underway."
