Neighbourhood in focus: PM to hold e-summit with Rajapaksa

India’s immediate neighbourhood is coming into focus again with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to have his first virtual summit with Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapaksa on September 26, his first with any leader in the neighbourhood. ​​​The summit could be right on the heels of Modi’s address to the UN General Assembly, which will be delivered virtually this year.

As the largest vaccine producing country in the world, I want to give one more assurance to the global community today. India's vaccine production and delivery capacity will be used to help all humanity in fighting this crisis," Prime Minister further said at UNGA.

"In India, the rights of transgenders are also being secured through necessary legal reforms," PM Modi added.
