J-K: Top LeT commander among two killed in Samboora encounter, ammunition recovered
Monday, 28 September 2020 Reshi carried out several terror activities in the Awantipora area and was also responsible for the attack on the CRPF convoy near Frestabal area of Pampore on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on June 2016 in which eight officers were killed and 20 injured.
Members of the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration held a meeting in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar on October 24. The meeting was held at PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti's residence, and attended by her former rivals Farooq and Omar Abdullah. The six political parties part of the alliance are National Conference, People's Democratic Party, People's Conference, Awami National Conference, People's Movement, and Communist Party of India-Marxist. Farooq Abdullah will be the alliance's president, while Mufti will be the vice-president. The alliance will release a 'white paper' within a month to expose 'lies' about Jammu and Kashmir's situation before the abrogation of its special status. Watch the full video for more.

In a joint search operation, Awantipora Police, with 55 Rashtriya Rifles and 185 Battalion CRPF busted a terrorist hideout at Kawani area of J-K's Awantipora district. They destroyed the underground hideout of Lashkar- e-Taiba. One pistol, three hand grenades, 2091 rounds of AK-47 ammunition has been recovered from the spot. FIR has been registered in the matter.
Two terrorists were killed in encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kulgam's Chingam area. The operation was launched following specific inputs about presence of terrorists. The joint operation was launched by security forces and Jammu and Kashmir police. Police said that the search operation turned into encounter after terrorists fired upon forces. One M4 rifle and a pistol have been recovered from encounter site, police added. Police further said that the identity and group affiliation of slain terrorists were being ascertained. On October 7, three terrorists were killed in an encounter in Shopian's Sugan Zainapora. In a similar incident, two terrorists were killed in Awantipora's Sambora on September 27.

Many trucks are stuck on Jammu- Srinagar National Highway near Nagrota town in Jammu from past 3 days. A truck driver form Punjab said, "It's been three days now. We are facing several difficulties; have to walk kilometers for water and other things amid downpour. There is no market nearby." Jammu-Srinagar highway has been closed from last 3 days due to landslides triggered by rainfall.

A wreath laying ceremony was held in Srinagar for the two CRPF personnel martyred during a terror attack in Pamore on Monday. They had been injured during the terror attack and later succumbed to their injuries. Terrorists had opened fire at a road opening party of CRPF soldiers around 12:50 pm on Monday afternoon at Pampore bypass. Three other CRPF personnel including an assistant sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force were also injured in the terror attack. Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the terror attack and said that the sacrifice of the jawans will not go in vain. Other political leaders including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also tweeted to pay tributes to the jawans.
