India reports 8,309 new Covid-19 cases; active cases lowest in 544 days

India on Monday reported 8,309 new Covid-19 cases and 236 deaths in the last 24 hours, the health ministry's release at 9:00 am stated. The death toll has climbed to 4,68,790. The country's total tally of cases now stands at 3,45,80,832.
