India reports 1,997 new Covid cases and 9 more deaths in 24 hours; active caseload dips to 30k

India reported 1,997 new cases of Covid-19 and nine more deaths in 24 hours, data released by the Union health ministry on Friday stated. The active caseload dropped to 30,362. ​The national Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.75 per cent. The death toll climbed to 5,28,754 with nine fatalities in the last 24 hours.
