Allocation for roads wing of highways ministry up by 50%

Aiming to accelerate construction of national highways before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls are announced, the government has increased the allocation for the roads wing of highways ministry by 50% to Rs 73,000 crore for 2023-24 while in the case of NHAI, the increase is around 15% to Rs 1.62 lakh crore.
