(MENAFN - The Peninsula) The Peninsula Doha: Birla Public School, Doha Qatar celebrated its annual day of Primary I and II wings on March 26, 2021, with great fervor, exuberance and elation. Adapting to the new situation this academic year witnessed the first ever online annual day of BPS. The evening began with the school band officially welcoming the guests of the day and was the curtain raiser of the function. The Academic Director of CBSE, Dr. Joseph Emmanuel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The luminaries gracing the function included the school chairman, Gope Shahani; school board of directors, C V Rappai, Lukose K Chacko; and management representatives, Chindhu Antony Rappai and Nevile Lukose. The leadership team of Birla Public School, parents, students and teachers virtually attended the function. The event was telecast live on YouTube. The delightful evening began with evoking the blessings of Almighty reciting verses from Holy Quran and prayer in English subsequently the school choir sang the national anthem of Qatar followed by the Indian national anthem and marked respect to both the countries. Shruti, headmistress of Primary-I welcomed the gathering. Principal, A.P Sharma presented the annual report and expressed his gratitude to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and to patron of BPS Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Principal took this opportunity to congratulate the students for their academic achievements which brought laurels to school. Rajesh Pillai, Vice Principal cherished and appreciated the students for their co-scholastic achievements. Chief Guest, Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, stated that Birla Public School Qatar is one of the leading schools affiliated to CBSE and expressed his happiness in being a part of the celebration. The director of CBSE valued the teaching learning process of BPS and the excellent achievements made both in the academic and the co-scholastic areas even during the pandemic. Dr. Joseph Emanuel specified that students should be equipped with life skills and competency and mould the students to meet the challenges of life and 21st Century.  C V Rappai, the director of the school management committee expressed his gratefulness to H H the Amir of Qatar and the Ministry of Education. C V Rappai lauded the efforts of the stakeholders for switching to e-learning over a night. The occasion felicitated the students who wove golden feathers on the crown of BPS, being toppers in CBSE Board Examinations 2019-2020. The students and teachers with 5 years of perfect attendance were appreciated and honored during the function for their dedication and commitment.
