(MENAFN) On Saturday, Jun. 19 Iran�s Interior Ministry declared that Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi won the country�s presidential election by gaining more than 60 percent of votes. Iran�s Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli stated in a press meeting during the afternoon: "Ebrahim Raisi won the first place with 17,926,345 votes, and has been elected by our dear people as president, to act as trustee of the executive apparatus." He said that out of 59,310,307 eligible voters, a number of 28,933,004 ballots were issued, reaching to a turnout of 48.8 percent. The interior minister further said that another candidate Mohsen Rezaee gained 3,412,712 votes, and Abdolnaser Hemmati 2,427,201 votes.
