(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 20 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia recorded on Sunday 14 new deaths with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) with 1,079 additional infections with the germ past hours.Saudi Ministry of Health said in its daily pandemic report that the death toll related to the respiratory disease climbed to 7,677 and the caseload to 474,191 since the disease emerged in the kingdom more than a year ago.The recoveries'' total rose to 455,618, with 1,214 new cases, the ministry said.Meanwhile, Qatari Ministry of Health declared a single death with the pathogen raising the death toll to 583. It added in a statement that 107 new infection cases were listed over past hours, bringing the whole count of the contaminations to 220,800.The Health Ministry in Oman said in a statement today that up to 84 patients with the communicable disease died over the past three days in addition to 5,320 new listed infection cases.The death toll due to infection with the germ rose in the sultanate to 2,710, in addition to 248,043 cases including 218,841 patients who were pronounced cured of the respiratory disease.These three countries are members in the six-seat Gulf Cooperation Council that includes Kuwait, the UAE and Bahrain.The GCC states, which set up the bloc in 1981, have taken a chain of precautions against the pandemic, first reported in central China, and have been launching wide scale vaccination campaigns against the virus.
