APPEAL: Fatal collision, A38 Ashburton

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a single-vehicle collision on the A38, between the Dart bridge and Ashburton, in which a 33-year-old man died.

Emergency services were called to the Exeter-bound stretch of the dual carriageway at around 5.10pm on Sunday 18 October.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the black Vauxhall Astra was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The road was closed while a forensic examination took place.

Officers are appealing for witnesses.

Anyone who was travelling on the A38, northbound or southbound, in the vicinity of the Buckfastleigh junction at the time and who may have dashcam footage of the vehicle is urged to come forward.
