Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the A390 in St Ann’s Chapel, Gunnislake, Cornwall, are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Police were called to reports of a collision involving a red Renault Scenic and a pedestrian at around 10.45pm, on Tuesday 14 September.

As a result of the collision the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local police as well as officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended and carried out a forensic examination of the scene.

The road was re-opened at around 6.40am on Wednesday 15 September. 

A man in his 80s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
