Omar grills Trump envoy to Venezuela after botching his name
Thursday, 14 February 2019 U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., blasted President Trump’s special envoy to Venezuela on Wednesday over his history of supporting right-wing governments in Latin America and his guilty plea in 1991 to two misdemeanor counts of lying to Congress but started by called him the wrong name.
“Would you support an armed faction within Venezuela that engages in war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide if you believed they were serving US interests as you did in Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua?” Minnesota Rep. Omar asked.
