PONTE VEDRA, Fla. (PRWEB) January 23, 2019

Relevnt™, a location-based social network where users join mobile communities based on interests and geolocation, has launched Campus Communities. Campus Communities will roll out across the Division 1-3 college ecosystem. Here, Relevnt™ will set up each school with its own location-based, student-run network. In short, the Campus Communities initiative is like Nextdoor for college campuses.

WHY CAMPUS COMMUNITIES
“Relevnt serves the large, unmet need to connect college students around location-based, interest-driven communities that bring students, alumni and the surrounding campus community together in unprecedented new ways,” says Winder Hughes, Relevnt Founder and CEO. Hughes adds: “Despite the pervasive use of mobile devices and social networks, students lack a cool, mobile-friendly experience to connect with like-minded people and interest groups on campus. Student anxiety, loneliness, and a lack of being informed are huge problems."

To address these issues, Relevnt™ is rolling out fun and engaging student-run social networks across the college ecosystem, although it is not affiliated with any specific school. Each location-based campus network will host a directory of mobile Communities and chatrooms for students to join. This experience provides them with an easy way to ask questions, seek recommendations, feel included, and connect to all things relevant to their on-and-off campus lifestyle interests.

INITIALLY LAUNCHING IN NORTH FLORIDA: UNF, JU, and FLAGLER
As an example, the UNF Communities network will host dozens of interest-driven communities such as AskOzzie, SwoopTalk, UNFSurf, UNFStartups, UNFHipHop, UNFFortnite, UNFFoodies, UNFBasketball, etc. These Communities provide students with an open, organized space to connect, stay informed, and chat with like-minded people within the specific geographic radius of their campus. All of this will provide students with a much more fulfilling experience during these important years -- and Relevnt can stay with them as they move on.

Tyler Droll, Relevnt board member and former co-founder of Yik Yak, says, “Relevnt has created a new experience for the college demographic that blends the social graph with the interest graph in a way that we were trying to accomplish at Yik Yak. For those who want to tap into this audience, here are meaningful commercial partnering opportunities. I’m excited to see this catch on.”
