Simmons and Fletcher Announces New Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
*HOUSTON, TX / ACCESSWIRE / April 19, 2021 / *Simmons and Fletcher, P.C., Injury & Accident Lawyers, is proud to announce a new education funding opportunity available through the firm's scholarship program. The new Students with Disabilities Scholarship will be awarded to two students with any recognized disability who are completing their first semester of college and going on to their second semester.
Like the firm's other academic scholarships, this is an essay competition. Eligible applicants must complete an essay that describes a challenge the student had to overcome or an adaptation the student had to make during their first semester of college. Winners will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship for first place and a $500.00 scholarship for second place.
Eligibility for this scholarship does not require a minimum GPA or SAT or ACT score nor does it require a particular degree program. Students may be enrolled at any U.S. college or university. All applications and requisite essays must be submitted by December 1 and winners will be announced December 31.
In order to compete, applicants must:
· Be currently enrolled in a U.S. college or university and have just completed your first semester
· Submit a completed essay as described
· Submit a completed application
· Submit documentation/diagnosis of disability from a medical doctor or a letter of recommendation from Disability Support Program Services (DSPS) and/or an Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) Counselor
