EPFO snips interest rate by 0.15% to 8.5%

The lower rates came amid falling interest rates in the economy, which has prompted the RBI to lower policy rates by 135 basis points over the last few months. Labour and employment minister Santosh Gangwar told reporters that at 8.5%, the social security agency for organised sector workers will be left with a surplus of Rs 700 crore.
