Covid-19: August case count crosses 15-lakh mark

Fresh cases reported on Tuesday zoomed past the 66,000 mark after a gap of two days, taking the total tally past 32 lakh. Active cases too rose slightly by a little over 1,000. August has so far seen over 15.3 lakh cases in India. This is the second highest count of cases recorded in any country during a month after the US, where close to 2 million (20 lakh) infections were reported in July.
