ICMR, state govts differ on Covid testing numbers

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) announced on September 25 that 14,92,409 Covid tests had been conducted in the country on the previous day, a record high number not achieved before or since that day. However, data from 24 major states (and UTs) on the number of tests conducted in those states on that day adds up to much less.
