Microsoft Reveals the Feature Getting the Ax in Windows 10 October 2020 Update

Microsoft has officially released Windows 10 October 2020 Update, or version 20H2, and as it happened before, the company also removed certain functionality in the operating system. This time, however, one just feature got the ax, as Microsoft explains that it killed off the MBAE service metadata that is replaced by an MO UWP app. This isn’t such a big change that is likely to be noticeable by the Average Joe, but just one feature going dark in this feature update shows that the October update itself isn’t a massive release. For example, Windows 10 May 2020 Update, or version 2004, dropped no less than five features, including several features in the Cortana assistant. “Cortana has been updated and enhanced in the Windows 10 May 2020 Update. With these changes, some previously available consumer skills such as music, connected home, and other non-Microsoft skills are no longer available,” Microsoft explained.
