Metroid Dread Launches for Nintendo Switch on October 4

One of the many nice surprises showcased during the latest Nintendo Direct video, Metroid Dread is the first game in the series with a new story in nearly 20 years. The game is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch on October 4, along with a two-pack set that includes a new Samus amiibo figure featuring her suit from Metroid Dread and an E.M.M.I. amiibo figure. Fans of the series will be happy to know that Metroid Dread is a direct sequel to 2002's Metroid Fusion game and is meant to conclude the five-part saga focusing on the strange, interconnected fates of bounty hunter Samus and the Metroids, which started with the original Metroid game for NES. In Metroid Dread, Samus adventures alone on a mysterious remote planet where she's hunted by a dangerous new mechanical threat, the E.M.I.I. robots.
