It Finally Happened – The Democrats Are Suing Trump, Russia and Wikileaksby 👨‍💻 Graham Pierrepoint

It seems that there’s barely a day goes by without some new twist in the tale that is Donald Trump’s U.S. Presidency. The President has recently been back in the news following the FBI’s investigation into his attorney, Michael Cohen, and with the saga regarding the alleged affair he had with adult film actress Stormy Daniels likewise still hogging the headlines of many a media outlet. Going into the weekend, however, a slightly different story altogether would emerge – and it’s a fairly big twist in Trump’s Presidential run so far.

The Democratic Party have launched a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Trump’s campaign, WikiLeaks and Russia – claiming that the much-rumored conspiracy that allegedly put The Donald into the White House did in fact take place. It’s been alleged by the official lawsuit, filed in Manhattan, that Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign in 2016 was deliberately targeted by actions taken involving Russian government officials and Trump’s own team – with the act of stealing material from Democratic Party sources being among the list of allegations. Russia has long been accused of having secretly meddled in assisting Trump to the White House – the ongoing FBI investigation into the legitimacy of his campaign continues to probe this – though Trump continues to deny any such allegations outright, to the point that he vehemently defends his campaign.

The Democrats’ decision to take Trump’s team and the Russians – as well as WikiLeaks – to task over this alleged conspiracy marks an interesting turn in a saga which has largely been based on conjecture and has been met by denial the whole way through. This legal challenge may well make a new stage in the saga indicating that matters are stepping up a gear – with Robert Mueller yet to tie up his investigation into what really went down, if at all, between Trump and the Russians. The President has, invariably, referred to the suggestion of such a meeting as ‘phony’ – taking to Twitter to let his thoughts be known.

This lawsuit is a very big move indeed which will be felt by multiple sources to create quite a stir – where will things lead from now? It’s hard to say – but the allegations surrounding Russia’s involvement with Trump and his election won’t be going away any time soon – it’s time, once again, to sit back and wait this latest one out.
