US Bomb Scare Latest: Who's the MAGA Bomber and Who's Been Affected?by 👨‍💻 Adam Yardley

The main story to have taken over the media headlines this week surrounds the arrival of a number of suspect packages at the homes and businesses of various public figures from coast to coast. It soon appeared that there was a link between the supposed bombs - in that they were posted to addresses associated with those who have been vocal against US President Donald Trump.

Pipe bomb recipients include former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, Hillary and Bill Clinton, businessman George Soros and actor Robert De Niro, who reportedly received packages at his restaurant and production company.

On Friday it emerged that a 56-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the mail-bombing campaign. Native American Trump fanatic Cesar Sayoc, a bodybuilder from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is said to have been traced by DNA and phone records. His van was found to be covered in pro-Trump and anti-Clinton stickers. Sayoc appears to have an extensive record of past arrests, including a stint served on probation for making a bomb threat.

The arrest came shortly after officials said they had intercepted the 11th and 12th pipe bombs sent by the so-called MAGA bomber to Democratic Senator Cory Booker and National Intelligence Director James Clapper.

The incidents come less than two weeks before the US mid-term elections and are being treated as a domestic terrorism case.

Meanwhile, President Trump condemned the attacks saying they were "despicable and have no place in our country".

Following the arrest of Sayoc the search for more mail bombs was not yet over, warned the FBI. Authorities don't yet know if they've found all of the pipe bombs they say suspect Cesar Sayoc allegedly sent.

"Today's arrest does not mean we are all out of the woods," FBI Director Christopher Wray said Friday at a news conference. "There may be more packages in transit now."

"These are not hoax devices", Wray added.

This is likely to be an unfolding story, which means that things will likely update in the next few days and weeks. We will keep you informed on anything breaking.
