California wildfire risk may cause power outages in 30 counties for more than 600,000 customers
Tuesday, 8 October 2019 () The largest utility in California has warned it may cut off power for large parts of the northern part of the Golden State starting Wednesday and lasting into the week to prevent its equipment from sparking wildfires during expected warm, windy weather.
SoCal Edison reported that because of elevated fire risk, it may choose to shut off power to as many as 50,000 customers in Los Angeles County, and many more across the Southland. KCAL9's Tom Wait reports.
