Washington gives boot to bottled water companies under Senate bill

Washington would become the first state in America to ban new water withdrawals from springs and streams by the multi-billion dollar bottled water industry, under a bill passed by the Washington State Senate late Tuesday.  It passed on a 28-20 party line vote, Democrats supporting and Republicans opposed.
