Chris Evans Is a Dad Pushed to the Edge in Apple’s ‘Defending Jacob’ Trailer (Video)

Chris Evans plays a dad pushed to his wit’s end when his son is accused of murder in the first trailer for “Defending Jacob,” the upcoming drama series from Apple TV+.

The eight-episode character-driven drama also stars Michelle Dockery, Jaeden Martell, Cherry Jones, Pablo Schreiber, Betty Gabriel, Sakina Jaffrey and J.K. Simmons .

Martell, known for his role in the “It” movie franchise, stars as Evans’ son Jacob, a teenage boy accused of murdering a classmate in the woods.

“‘Defending Jacob’ unfolds around a shocking crime that rocks a small Massachusetts town, and follows assistant district attorney, Andy Barber (Evans) who finds himself torn between his sworn duty to uphold justice and his unconditional love for his son Jacob (Martell).”

The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content. Mark Bomback created, wrote and executive produced the series, and serves as showrunner. All eight episodes of the series are directed by Morten Tyldum, who also executive produces. Evans also executive produces alongside Rosalie Swedlin and Adam Shulman for Anonymous Content.

“Defending Jacob” is set to premiere with three episodes on Apple TV+ on April 24, followed by new episodes every Friday through May 29.
