NYC health commissioner resigns amid coronavirus pandemic

Dr. Oxiris Barbot, the New York City Commissioner of Health and Mental Hygiene who oversaw the city's coronavirus response, resigned on Tuesday. In a letter sent to staff on Tuesday, obtained by CBS News, Barbot wrote that the department "must be better leveraged" as the city prepares for a likely second wave of the coronavirus.
