Former NFL Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall Joins FS1’s ‘First Things First’
Former NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall is joining FS1’s “First Things First,” where his 6’5” frame will make things crowded at the Fox Sports morning show desk.
Marshall joins Nick Wright, Cris Carter’s replacement Kevin Wildes, as well as Jenna Wolfe on the program, which kicks off weekdays at 7:30 a.m. ET on cable channel FS1 (the former Fox Sports 1).
They’re all full-time, daily participants — a person with knowledge of the plans told TheWrap that the idea here is to “make the show more of a panel-style discussion.”
Marshall, a six-time Pro Bowl player, has TV experience: In 2014, Marshall joined Showtime’s “Inside the NFL” as an on-air analyst. He’ll keep that job, for which he earned a 2016 Sports Emmy nomination for Outstanding Sports Personality – Studio Analyst.

“Brandon is a rare talent that has achieved acclaim in both the NFL and the broadcast world at an early stage of his career,” Whit Albohm, senior vice president of studio production at FS1, said in a statement on Thursday. “In the brief time I’ve worked with Brandon, it is already evident what made him such a successful athlete. He has an unquenchable desire to grow and succeed, which is the secret ingredient for excellent television.”
“I’m a very competitive person,” Marshall said. “Joining FS1 gives me the space and opportunity to continue to compete at a high level with a great team — just in a different venue. I’m excited to work with such amazing men and women to continue to develop and also talk about one of the closest things to my heart: sports.”
Marshall, who played his college ball at the University of Central Florida, was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2006. He was a force there, and continued to ball out when moved to the Chicago Bears.
In addition to his NFL career spawning a successful sports talk one, Marshall has been an advocate for mental health awareness.
