After the deadly mass shootings in Texas and Ohio over the weekend, a group of former senior directors for counterterrorism at the National Security Council called on the government to make addressing domestic terrorism a high priority. Authorities have said the 21-year-old accused of carrying out the shooting in El Paso, Texas, will be treated as a domestic terrorist.
