Canada-US border closure extended as third wave of COVID-19 hits

Amid rising cases of COVID-19 in Washington and around the U.S., Canada has extended the border closure for non-essential travel until Nov. 21 according to Canada's Public Safety Minister Bill Blair. "We are extending non-essential travel restrictions with the United States until November 21st, 2020," Blair tweeted on Monday. "Our decisions will continue to be based on the best public health advice available to keep Canadians safe." The previous closure was set to expire on Oct. 21, just two days from now. The land border restrictions were first announced in March at the beginning of the pandemic and have been renewed monthly.
