Where Has Melania Trump Been? The First Lady Breaks Her Silenceby 👨‍💻 Graham Pierrepoint

There’s not a day that goes by without the Trumps being in clear focus of the world – after all, US President Donald is one of the most outspoken and keenly-watched figures on the planet – not least thanks to his fervent use of Twitter as a digital soapbox at times. His relationship with first lady Melania has also been extensively covered – though, in recent days, it seems that Mrs Trump has flown completely under the radar – leading to all manner of conspiracy theories as to where she’s been for the majority of May.

Melania Trump had last been seen in public on May 10th, as she accompanied the President and Vice President Mike Pence in welcoming home hostages from North Korea back to the US. Since then, her absence has been noteworthy to say the very least – with the White House having confirmed shortly after her appearance that she had undergone treatment on a kidney condition – which is thought to be both benign and free from further complications. It’s thought she spent five to six days recuperating at a medical center – but her absence for around three weeks from the public eye has led to all manner of speculation, particularly as the news that she was being taken to hospital was fairly unprecedented. Some had also suggested that her stay in hospital was longer than it needed to be – leading to wild speculation as to her health in general.

Melania broke her silence on May 30th with a tweet – what else – stating that despite media speculation, she is ‘here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people’. When asked about his wife’s lack of presence on the world stage in recent times, the President asserted that his wife was ‘doing great’ during her recuperation – though this really didn’t stop a flurry of wild theories being let loose. During this time, despite Melania being absent from photo-ops and otherwise, her Twitter account was active – and the President tweeted that she was ‘feeling and doing really well’, and ‘back home in the White House’ as of May 19th (despite mistyping his wife’s name as ‘Melanie’ – which could be the fault of autocorrect!).

Speculation will always be rife when it comes to the Trumps – but it seems that, according to all sources, Melania’s stay in hospital has been a short one – despite the rumors.
