Iran women allowed into football stadium for first time in decades

Iranian women fans are free to enter a football stadium. For 40 years, Iran barred women from football and other stadiums because clerics argued that they must be shielded from the masculine atmosphere and sight of semi-clad men. Following FIFA's threat of suspension, Iran relented and now 3,500 women have secured a ticket to an upcoming 2020 qualifier match.
