Tokyo governor quits as head of conservative opposition 'Party of Hope'
Tuesday, 14 November 2017 TOKYO (Reuters) - The governor of the Japanese capital, Tokyo, whose opposition "Party of Hope" came a distant third to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's ruling party in a general election last month, said on Tuesday she would quit as party co-leader.
The opposition party had been expecting its dissolution and had already ceased to function - with its leader Kem Sokha arrested, many of its senior members in hiding or in exile such as its Vice President Mu Sochua.
