Those are just a few of the personal purchases former Champaign County Supervisor of Assessments Joe Meents is accused of charging to the county’s credit card.

((aaron))tomorrow night, the champaign county board is expected to name an interim supervisor of assessments.that person will replace joe meents, who resigned earlier this month after it was discovered he charged thousands of dollars in personal items to the county's credit card.the county sent me a copy of meents' credit card statements for the last 4 months to see what exactly he spent that money on.

From september 11th through january 12th, champaign county supervisor of assessments joe meents spent about 35-hundred dollars of the county's money - which the state's attorney's office says was spent mostly on himself.among the personal purchases they say meents charged to the county.a 477 dollar at&amp;t bill.139 dollars for direct-tv290 dollars at mc-sports.81 dollars at the movie theaterand illini tickets for 225 dollars.meents spent 705.28 at gas stations, which the state's attorney's office tells me is ámostly personal.336 dollars at restaurants - all personal.he charged 779 at places like walmart, meijer and schnucks.

We're told almost all of that is personal.meents also spent 131 dollars of the county's money on oil changes for his personal car.

((aaron))meents also spent 40 dollars in haircuts and 40 dollars at a florist.he has paid all of the money back.by the way, meents' salary was more than 73-thousand dollars.

He has not been charged with any crimes yet.the state's attorney's office will hand the case off to a special prosecutor, who will decide what to charge him with.
