Trump Jr. Mocks Al Franken's Resignation Speech

With Al Franken announcing his resignation from the Senate... “I will be resigning as member of United States Senate.” ...Donald Trump, Jr is trolling the former SNL player by using his own words against him.

Trump, Jr tweeting, “...because I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and God-darnit people like me.” The quote, a reference to Franken’s SNL character Stuart Smalley, and the title of a book written by the Minnesota senator.

Franken’s departure came amid pressure from Democrats to resign after a total of eight women have come forward alleging sexual misconduct on his part. “I know in my heart that nothing I have done as a senator, nothing, has brought dishonor on this institution, and I am confident that the Ethics Committee would agree.” During his announcement, Franken wasted no time taking a jab at President Trump and the allegations of sexual misconduct that have been leveled against him. “I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history on sexual assault sits on the oval office.” When asked to comment on Franken’s words, Sarah Sanders said the matter had already been addressed and there is nothing left to add.
