According to a report by Business Insider, President Donald Trump's ousting of Rex Tillerson came just one day after the Secretary of State publicly broke with the White House to accuse Russia of ordering a chemical attack against a former Russian spy in the UK.
On Monday evening, Tillerson told reporters that the attack "clearly" came from Russia.
When asked whether the incident would prompt a response from the UK, Tillerson reportedly said, "it certainly will trigger a response.
I'll leave it at that."
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump asked Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to resign and announced that he would be replaced by CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
