Following the tragic news that nobel prize winning physicist Stephen Hawking passed away aged 76, many stars have taken to social media to share their condolences.

As a reoccurring guest star on the hit TV show 'The Big Bang Theory', actress Kaley Cuoco noted that it was truly such an honour getting to work with him.

She noted that he made them all laugh.

Following the tragic news that nobel prize winning physicist Stephen Hawking passed away aged 76, many stars have taken to social media to share their condolences.

As a reoccurring guest star on the hit TV show 'The Big Bang Theory', actress Kaley Cuoco noted that it was truly such an honour getting to work with him.

She noted that he made them all laugh.

Stephen of course, was the subject of 2014's movie 'The Theory of Everything', and was played by Eddie Redmayne, who won an Oscar for his performance.

Eddie stated that we have lost a truly beautiful mind, an astonishing scientist and the funniest man he had ever had the pleasure to meet.

Other stars sharing their thoughts include signer Katy Perry also hit Twitter to note that there's a big black hole in her heart hours before Pi day, a day that celebrates mathematics.

Zoe saldana bid farewell to a brilliant mind and Neil deGrasse Tyson, often referred to as the people's astrophysicist noted that Stephen has left an intellectual vacuum in his wake.

Rest in peace Stephen Hawking.
