An all too familiar issue for wicomico county residents--flooding and drainage problems that's right and tonight-- a gym full of fed-up community members voiced their frustrations to local county officials-- and they're saying enough is enough-- they want action taken-- now tonight 47 abc's taylor lumpkin was at that meeting.
She has more on that story.
Now is the timewe need to speak up and they need to hold their end of the bargain track 1 dozens of wicomico county residents came out to the west side community center tuesday evening to voice their concerns over drainage issues they've faced over the past couple of years we've had some tremendous storms over the last two years storms that i don't remember having.
Certainly they made small problems big problems track 2 this is the fourth of six meetings the wicomico county department of public works plans to hold across the county-- to pinpoint the exact areas where residents are seeing the drainage issues.
What we're doing is reaching out to the community to find out locations where they've been experiencing drainage problems so we can try to figure out where our hot spots are and also to reach out and let them know what the county has been working on to try and improve drainage problems butt sot local officials came out to hear community members concerns over drainage issues, and now they're planning to attack that problem with a three e plan.
Butt sot the three e's that are being presented tonightthe enforcement, the engineering, and the education i think people really realize the ditch is there for a reason, they may not be pretty but they serve a real purpose track 3 and residents say they don't wan't officials to just hear their problems -- but finally do something about them-- and that their actions speak louder than their words.
I would like to see them with crews going up and down nanticoke road and visually taking into account what could be done, what needs to be done and who is responsible track 4 taylor lumpkin 47 abc and if you missed out on tonight's drainage meeting you're in luck-- wicomico county's department of public works will be hosting another meeting thursday night at 6 at the wicomico civic center.
