Parts of the Internal Revenue Service's online filing system are down.
Acting IRS Commissioner David Kautter told lawmakers that "a number of systems are unavailable at the moment." Tuesday is Tax Day, the deadline for taxpayers to file their 2017 federal taxes.
Kautter said the IRS is "working to resolve the issue, and taxpayers should continue to file as they normally would." Currently, the Direct Pay option and parts of the Modernized eFile System are down..
Due to a technical problem which prevented many from filing their 2017 taxes, the Internal Revenue Service extended the filing deadline another day. CBS2's Chris Wragge reports. Source: CBS 2 New York -
