But I think that this World Cup will definitely improve (international) relations, because we know that England really very sharply expressed themselves about the World Cup and called for a boycott of the competition.

And now I want to say to English fans: Guys, get it together, come to Russia and support your national team because they have gotten into the semi-final.

And I think what could be better than following the call of your heart and coming to the country and supporting your footballers?

It seems to me that it's simply the duty of every Englishman." 4.

Somewhere, people were so excited at the beginning, and they were saying, 'Wow, Victoria, yes we are coming.'

Some countries, they were more neutral and they were saying, 'OK, but why do you think I should go there?'

And, 'Do you think it's going to be safe for us?'

And so many questions.

And I can say that now mission accomplished, because all foreigners that we have here in Russia, they are super happy with the way how everything is organised, with the way how we welcome people and treat people.

And the weather is OK, thank God.

And I think that we are happy because we have such a beautiful football competition here in Russia and our guests are happy as well." 6.

There are a lot of Russians who can't travel because they don't have that chance, they work in an occupation that doesn't allow them to travel or for some other reason, and all of a sudden they see such a huge amount of people of different nationalities, they all speak in different languages.

It makes it possible to make new friends, and it's good motivation, by the way, to study English or some other language, because it is almost certain that after the World Cup, there will be a big number of examples of of connections, maybe people who fell in love with each other.

It's cool.

It's clearing all of the borders, and it's thanks to what?

Soccer - that game that drives millions of people crazy all over the planet.

This is true." 9.

Borders are really just in our heads, and borders are made by politics.

But heart-to-heart is a path completely without obstacles.

I definitely believe that human connections are the most important for our lives." 11.

VARIOUS OF LOPYREVA SEEN THROUGH WINDOW STORY: FIFA World Cup ambassador and former Miss Russia Victoria Lopyreva called on England fans to come to Russia and support their team on Monday (July 9) despite difficult relations between Britain and Russia.

"Guys, get it together, come to Russia," she told Reuters.

"What could be better than following the call of your heart and coming to the country and supporting your footballers?

It seems to me that it's simply the duty of every Englishman." Praising the World Cup that has gone off without a hitch, the 34-year-old model and TV presenter said it was "mission accomplished" for the tournament.

Many fans polled by Reuters have been impressed by Russians - some in remote or industrial towns where tourists rarely tread - bending over backwards to help, dispelling preconceptions and spreading an upbeat atmosphere.

Lopyreva said the same was true of Russians to foreigners.

"I am sure it will change their world and their world view, and maybe they will want to travel more and know more about the culture and history of other countries and keep contacts," she said.

"It's clearing all of the borders, and it's thanks to what?

Soccer - that game that drives millions of people crazy all over the planet." Lopyreva was chosen as an ambassador of the tournament, travelling to numerous countries ahead of its start to drum up interest in the World Cup and soften the image of the country dogged by fears of fan violence and criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
