Kellyanne Conway Struggles To Name Top Black White House Staffer
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway had a hard time answering a very specific question on ABC’s This week. ????Anchor Jonathan Karl asked Conway to name a top black White House staffer following the firing last year of former White House aide, Omarosa Manigault Newman. ????She said “First of all, you’re totally not covering the fact that our secretary of housing and urban development and world renowned…” ????Conway began referencing Secretary of HUD Ben Carson until Karl cut her further pushing the question. ????"We have Ja'ron. (He's) done a fabulous job and... he’s been very involved with Jared Kushner and President Trump on prison reform.
He’s been there from the beginning.
He worked with Omarosa and others of us." ????After naming Jaron but offering no last name, former White House Aide Marc Short also came on ABC and identified Conway’s reference fully as Ja’Ron Smith. ????Short says that Smith’s office is in the East Wing of the White House. ????When asked what does it mean to not have at least one black senior advisor in the West Wing, ??Conway said “????“I didn’t say that there wasn’t but hold on.
There are plenty of people -- if you’re going by that and not by the actions of the president, which you probably should, then you should look at the fact that we have a number of different minorities." ????Conway pointed out that under Trump’s presidency, minority groups have had the lowest unemployment rates in history. ????However, the president has been criticized for what some have called racially insensitive comments toward blacks and other minorities.????Including his response to last years Unite the Right white supremacist rally where he said there were very fine people on both sides of the protest. ??????
