BYU offense trying to build momentum

Dana after failing to crack the 20- point barrier in their first 3 games..

Byu's offense finally woke up last saturday...puttin g up 32 points against west virginia... it wasn't enough as the cougars fell to 1-3....but at least they have some to build on headed into friday's game against toledo... 09-15 34-40 dana: taysom hill and the byu offense showed signs of life, racking up 521 yards against the mountaineers.

Hill: we played really well.

We executed and i think it gives us a lot of confidence going into the rest of the season.

If we execute, if we run our routes the way that we're supposed to, if we get the ball out on time and if we protect, then we're going to be really difficult to stop.

Dana: especially if they run the ball like this.

With jamaal williams going for 169 yards and hill rushing for 101, byu's rushing attack took a big leap forward.

Sitake: he's starting to feel a lot more comfortable running the ball.

And for a quarterback to rush for that many yards is difficult to do.

He's going to keep doing that and hopefully we'll keep relying on him to do things with his feet as well as with his arm.

Dana: but four turnovers, including 3 interceptions by hill, were the difference.

Byu's three losses are by a combined 7 points, but they say the mood of the team is still positive.

Hill: it's actually pretty good, given the circumstances.

I think we all realize that we're one or two plays away in each of these games from being 4-0.

We all love each other, we all trust and respect one another, and we still have a lot to play for.

Sitake: if anything, this season being 1-3 right now has brought our team closer together.

This is one of the closest teams i've ever been a part of.

And so, nothing it going to divide this
