Announcer: fox 18 sports sunday now continues.
Saturday was a great day for the sterling golden warriors football team.this has been a great season for the golden warriors...11-0.11 wins zero losses.that is very impressive.
Sterling was down 13-0 yesterday and they won 41-13 at rich central...head coach jon schlemmer had this to say after his teams super saturday on the road."
"(jon schlemmer/sterling head coach) you know you haven't been through that.
We haven't really seen anything like that.
We were down 13 - nothing but our kids.
We kind of talked about it and they're going to punch us early on.
Once we got hit we responded.
So once our offense got going a little bit and our tempo could give them some issues.
It's just about making sure we are doing those things fundamental-wise.
You know we weren't picking up a few of those blitz's early and they had a nice scheme.
They have a nice football club.
I'm really happy with the way our kids played.
(trey morse/sterling qb) it was great for us going in to next week because we really haven't seen that all year.
Probs to them coming out as hard as they did because it was good.
They were good.
It's a team that we're very comfortable with.
A cross conference matchup playing them the last 3 years now.
We got a lot of studying to do.
It's been a long time since we've played them but i think this team is ready to take that next step and help our program advance.(???) it's a great feeling you know.
I knew we could do it.
We can do anything that we want.
(schlemmer) proud of them.
I'm proud of our kids because you know you get down like that in a big game and kids hang their heads.
Especially like you said we haven't been in that situation in a while so once we were able to kind of respond from that, and once we were able to get our feet under us and just keep going, we got some really good football players.
We have some excellent kids, not only good football players but really good kids.
There was no panic on the sideline from our coaches or from our kids.
You know it goes to show that we were able to battle back from that second quarter on really all the way through the end of the game.
It's a quarter-final game and in our program there's only been a handful of those that have played in it.
Sterling's never won a quarter-final game in the history of our great tradition we've never done that.
We played a team we played a long time ago adn they haven't forgotten that but i think our kids they're excited to get back and go back and just get back to work and have another week to play together.
We're in uncharted territory for our program right now so we
